Victor Navasky is the former editor and now publisher
of The Nation Magazine, serves on the faculty of the Columbia
Journalism School and is the Chairman of the Columbia Journalism
Review. He is author of three books.

Nation Magazine Publisher Victor Navasky has
enjoyed one of the longest and most storied careers in modern American
journalism. He has also thought long and hard about what journalism--particularly
opinion journalism--is good for in a democratic society. Drawing
on his recent celebrated book, A Matter of Opinion, he will
talk with long-time World Policy Institute senior fellow Eric Alterman
about the politics of opinion formation in national and international
affairs.
