		<description>I agree with your assessment that NATO is no longer useful as the entity in which it was originally imagined. In light of such analysis, questions... Shall NATO be dismantled entirely? Or shall it be re-purposed? (after all, it is heavily involved in Afghanistan, a country decidedly out of the Eurosphere). 

The Bush Doctrine is just that - a "Bush" doctrine. I would not conflate it with an American agenda or doctrine, at least not yet. It will be interesting to see what Obama/McCain does with this disastrous strategic policy when their time comes.</description>
