In China's Left Behind in the Summer issue of World Policy Journal, Helen Gao examines the 61 millions children who remain in their rural villages after their parents have sought work in China's big cities. On June 27 , World Policy Journal managing editor Christopher Shay hosted a Google+ Hangout with Helen Gao and discussed China's urbanization, rural Chinese villages made up of only elderly and children, and the need to reform China's household registration system.
