In 1977, Rajni Kothari, Director of the Center for the Study of Developing Societies in India, joined Mendlovitz as Co-Director of WOMP. Some of these were summarized in a project book, On the Creation of a Just World Order. This was one of the first truly global think tanks, with partners and contributors in India, China, Africa and Europe. The results of a series of conferences –the first of which was held in New Delhi, India, in 1968—were published in a collection of six books in the series Preferred Worlds for the 1990s.
